CEO: AvtoVAZ to make 200,000 Lada Granta cars in 2023

MOSCOW, Dec 5 (PRIME) -- AvtoVAZ plans to produce about 200,000 Lada Granta cars on its facility in Tolyatti in 2023, CEO Maxim Sokolov said on Tuesday at a forum.

"Many don't even believe it, but the level of automation and robotization on some lines – in particular, on the welding line of our flagship product the Granta car – stands at 82%. We will probably make 200,000 cars this year," Sokolov said.

AvtoVAZ did not disclose the production volume in 2022, while the sales amounted to 95,900. The production plan for all Lada cars was set at 400,000 for 2023 with a possible 10% cut because of sanctions.

Sokolov also said that AvtoVAZ planned to deliver more than 40,000 Lada cars to the dealer network in December. He said he hoped that the state support measures and incentives by the producer could help demand depressed by a high key rate of the central bank.

AvtoVAZ launched a program of loan interest compensation for the Lada Vesta cars with an about 600 million ruble subsidy, Sokolov said.
